COMPENSATION: The targeted hiring base salary is in the $95,000 - $110,000 range plus a bonus opportunity, which is based on the company achieving revenue targets.

THE MANDATE:

The Senior Software Engineer, Mobile is responsible for playing a leading role on a team focused on the development of XATA’s mobile Windows CE and Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted applications. This person must be well versed in coding, performance tuning, and automated unit testing software in a mobile application environment. This person must also have excellent communication and team building skills, and must be able to lead software design discussions and guide the architecture of the solution based on good object oriented design concepts, and both industry standard patterns and Microsoft best practices.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Designs, develops, modifies and implements mobile applications across the supported XATA platforms including:
Android
Blackberry
Windows Mobile
Supports and/or installs software applications
Plans and performs proper unit testing of software code written (including automated unit testing)
Participates in the requirements and design process from concept through specification reviews
Documents design using UML according to company process guidelines

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related area
10+ years of software development experience plus 5+ years of mobile application development experience
High degree of competence is required with the entire suite of Microsoft Office products
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Possesses a positive attitude with strong work ethic, integrity and honesty
Self-starter capable of working independently or in groups
Well-versed in industry standard software development life cycle process methodologies
Competent with software installation and/or automated build technologies
Can speak to and advocate for disciplined Agile practices

Preferred but not required:

10+ years of Microsoft SQL Server development experience
Networking and Windows Server administration (programming WMI, cscript, batch files) skills
Familiar with Microsoft Team Foundation Server; Microsoft Certified
